Experiential Course on Sustainable Development

3 Week Course

​

Specifically designed for undergraduate students, this three -week course provides students with an overview of public health work in a cross-cultural, global setting and an exposure to a wide range of experiences in the field. The Practicum serves to integrate course work from the students’ home institution with active learning experiences at CRHP.

Internships

6 Months

The CRHP Internship Program offers unpaid, six-month internships in communications & development, surgical camp administration, and videography& graphic design throughout the year. We seek individuals who want to gain work experience in the nonprofit sector as well as exposure to international development in a very rural and sometimes challenging setting. These positions offer the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a large organization implementing programs in areas of health, environmental, and socioeconomic development in India. Incumbents will be exposed to a wide variety of work including, marketing, fundraising, programming, and evaluation in areas of public health, medicine, women’s rights, and economic and community development.

Observations and Electives

Customizable

We welcome individuals and groups to our campus to visit our Project Villages to  observe the model in practice. We offer observation field visits, where interested parties will be able  to learn the CRHP approach in a flexible and customized fashion. Students that are interested in completing course electives at CRHP can be accommodated.

Faculty-Led Courses

1-4 Week Course

Since 1990, faculty from around the world have brought students from a variety of disciplines to CRHP to complete public health practicums, undergraduate and graduate level courses, and supplements to medical, social work, or public health courses.

The Jamkhed International Institute for Training and Research currently hosts professors and student groups from Elon University, Calvin College, Brooklyn College, Cornell College, University of Colorado, and the University of Melbourne.

Domestic Trainings

Customizable

CRHP also hosts domestic trainings and internships/practicums in English, Marathi, and Hindi. Trainees leave CRHP able to turn their newfound knowledge of community-based primary healthcare into action in their own villages, towns, and cities. Organizations with whom we have such a partnership include the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), the School for International Training (SIT), CSRD, and TISS.

Diploma Course

2 Months

Specifically designed for practitioners in the field, this two-month course (August-September) offers intensive study  and practical planning for those who wish to implement CRHP’s approach in their respective communities. At the end of the course, participants produce an action plan for applying concepts and skills learned within their own project’s context.
